Senegal’s Ministry of African Integration, the New Partnership for Africa’s Development and Promotion of Good Governance have established a steering committee for the development of a law on access to information.
Chief of staff of that Ministry, Massamba Sene, is quoted as saying that the committee will have to work “quickly and well.”
“The approach will be inclusive; citizens will have access to all relevant information necessary. Good governance issues are a concern of every day ,” Sene said, according to an article in Le Soleil.
The paper reported: “Samba Diop, technical adviser to the Prime Minister (PM), explained that information is a crucial issue in economic matters, respect for human rights. Also, he has advocated the enlargement of the Committee to information professionals.”
