United States: New section on litigation in the Justice Department online FOIA guide.

United States. Secrecy News reports that the Public Interest Declassification Board, which advises the president on classification and declassification policy, is proposing to recommend that certain historically significant topics and events be prioritized for expedited declassification.

European Union: An OpenSource.com interview with Neelie Kroes, VP of the European Commission.

European Union: UreMaría José Romero co-authored an article with MEP Ska Keller on the lack of transparency of EU blended mechanisms, published in the Parliament Magazine (see page 9).

United States: The National Archives and Records Administration has activated a new website called Online Public Access (OPA), which allows researchers to search through NARA’s holdings of declassified documents using an easy-to-use search engine.

New Website: A new website in the European union — Puzzled by Policy — provides a free, interactive platform for understanding public attitudes to key policy issues. “Developed by leading IT companies, public authorities, universities and NGOs from across Europe, Puzzled by Policy reduces the complexity of policy-making by consulting with people in a way that is both fun and engaging.”
