Parliaments: OpenParliament.org is inviting comments on a draft Declaration on Parliamentary Openness. The Declaration on Parliamentary Openness “is a call to national parliaments by civil society parliamentary monitoring organizations for an increased commitment to openness and to citizen engagement in parliamentary work. Comments are due by July 31.

Disadvantaged Communities: South African History Archive has released a new publication developed to raise awareness about the right to information within historically disadvantaged communities in South Africa. The guide, Accessing Information for Your Community: A guide to using the Promotion of Access to Information Act to empower South African communities to promote and protect human rights, outlines the important role that access to information can play in the achievement of advocacy goals and the protection of rights in South African communities. It examines the legal right to information in South Africa and, using key issues that face many South African communities – access to housing, water, education and employment – illustrates the ways in which access to information can help communities to realise other rights.

Corporations:  Transparency International has issued a study analyzing the transparency of corporate reporting on a range of anticorruption measures among the 105 largest publicly listed multinational companies.
